• Houghton Elementary Winners Capture the Essence of the Holidays in Annual Artwork Contest

SAGINAW, MICH. (December 17, 2012) – Morley has sponsored an annual holiday artwork contest for the past 20 years. This year, Houghton Elementary 5th grader Larenzo Harris took top prize.

“When I won, it was like a dream,” said the student, who created a pencil and crayon drawing of mysterious snowy footprints winding through a pine forest.

Nearly a century ago, Morley’s founder donated land to build Morley Elementary School, whose future students would eventually end up attending other nearby schools, including Houghton.

“We look forward to the Houghton contest every year,” said Paul Furlo, Morley CEO. “We are honored to continue our long tradition of supporting education and recognizing these deserving students.”

“The kids were very excited to participate, and they worked diligently,” said Houghton Principal Janice Anderson, who called the annual contest “an awesome opportunity.”

Winning students’ artwork will be featured in Morley’s company holiday card, which goes out to thousands of clients around the world.
